This has been a week of meetings! I’m sure some of you can relate to that…running from one thing to another. I’m really looking forward to the weekend.
So, when I have a week like this I need to feel comfortable. These distressed jeans from Level 99 are the perfect choice. They fit well and have a great distressed edge to them. When I wear jeans like this I tend to prefer a heel of some sort. I think it adds a little polish and keeps them looking pulled together and not sloppy. I paired them with a simple black tank and a long black jacket. The jacket detail is not showing up but it has fun zipper pockets and silver metal piping across the shoulders. The fabric drapes so nicely and is really soft. I know this is going to be a key piece of my Fall wardrobe. The silver booties are one of the best purchases I’ve made recently. Metallics are popping up everywhere for Fall. They are easy to wear, add a pop of shine and can work with anything from jeans to dresses.

Even though I’m looking forward to the weekend, it will not be a quiet one. Tonight we are part of a VIP party for Habitat for Humanity’s Renovator’s Home Tour. MFE’s UnGala is Saturday night and we’re expecting it to be a fabulous evening…you can still get tickets! Hope you have a good weekend and maybe I’ll see you at one of these events! Enjoy.
Steamy hot Fridays call for effortless dressing. Don’t get me wrong, I love this hot weather we’re having. Yes, I know I am in the minority. But, seriously, what’s not to love? The sun has been shining, we’ve had beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the warmth simply feels good.
Generally, on really hot days I grab a dress but today I went for a pair of draped wide leg culottes that look like a skirt. They have a front panel which lays nicely over the pants and belts at the side. The fabric is light weight and easy to move in. I picked these up at a major discount on my last trip to LA and I love them. Dress them up or down and they can take you day to night. I find a good pair of black pants or jeans are worth the money every time…they will get you out of a dressing pinch any day. I’m pairing these with a t-shirt I’ve had forever…fitted, super soft and muted colors. Plus, I love the words: Peace; Love. A good reminder for all the haters out there. A great pair of block heels and this fab fringe bag finish the look.
Fridays are my favorite breakfast as well…I add some local honey to my oatmeal and cacao to my latte. I finish that off with mixed berries including goji berries. Antioxidant packed breakfast that sustains me until lunch and tastes so good. For me, breakfast is my most important meal and it’s one I pay particular attention to inner beauty and how I’m fueling myself for the day. Having these ingredients on hand make that an effortless start to the day as well.

If you’re in Lancaster Saturday, come out to Tellus360 and catch our friend Brendan’s band Hiding Scarlet. Enjoy!
Last night we attended the Fête en Blanc Lancaster—a fun pop-up dinner kicking off Summer which has been held for the last 5 years. It’s by invitation only and you don’t find out the location until the day before the event. You bring everything with you [chairs, tables, food, decorations, alcohol and all serving pieces] and must wear all white. It began in Paris in 1988 by some friends who met up in a park for dinner. They wore all white so they could find each other and so The White Party began. It’s now held all over the world around the beginning of Summer! Each year it gets bigger and bigger locally. This year Buchanan Park was the spot and it was a beautiful night.
Wearing white is not within my comfort zone so I struggle with pulling together an outfit every year. There were so many great outfits! This year I was the most comfortable and really loved what I ended up wearing. I layered a white mini skirt with a tank and breezy white sweater…each piece was so soft. I know I will wear the sweater over and over this Summer. It’s such a versatile piece (as long as I don’t spill something on it!). With black and white being a trend this year I’m sure I can pull together the skirt with one of my favorite black t-shirts and be ready to go! I have a great pair of white booties which will complete that outfit.
Here’s a visual recap of last night…Matt Titter of The Pressroom did all the menu planning and food prep for our table of 14. I tried his homemade olives and sampled caviar–two firsts for me! What a treat to have a chef custom-prepare your dinner. His wife Meg was one of the organizers of the whole event and she was truly an amazing hostess for our table.
Running into friends is half the fun! Adair Witmer, Christine Witmer (co-worker) and me.
We had “assigned seats” intentionally breaking up couples and friends so we got to meet new people.
Our chef, Matt front and center with our good friend Nancy Siler taking in the view from the opposite end of the table.
Stacey taking in the band.Paul striking a pose and looking very handsome.

To get on the invite list for 2017, check out the new Fête website! Hope to see you at Celebrate Lancaster tomorrow night.
Black or white seems to be a big trend this season. I have to admit, it does make getting ready easy! I have a wide selection of white t-shirts but I tend more to the black than the white. So, today I worked white in by way of accessories.
No matter what time of year it is, I love scarfs. This skinny silk scarf is absolutely perfect for Summer. It’s light-weight and adds just the right touch to an outfit. On a recent walk to Mad Cap I found this vintage white belt…I could not believe it fit! Recently, I added this white snakeskin clutch to my collection. The silver chain detail around the edges is great. It’s such a cool bag and will get alot of use this Summer. These black and white shoes have been in my closet for years. I feel like they are a classic and I’m sure they have many more years of wear in them.
Skinny Scarf: Rockins loving this one too
Black T-shirt: Vince but find similar at Taupe
Belt: Mapcap but try this one
Jeans: AG Boyfriend

Shoes: old but try these or these for a similar look
I’ll be breaking out all white for Fete en Blanc next…stay tuned for that! Enjoy
Wow, sorry for the long delay in posting. Our trip to Germany was so amazing and it seems like we have been running ever since we returned. Our trip wound us through big cities, small towns and an amazing light & sound show. It’s hard to pick a favorite…there were so many great experiences and things to see.
And, the fashion did not disappoint! One trend I saw alot of while there was layering of jewelry. Smaller pieces layered with scarves or longer necklaces. I picked up a cool peace sign charm necklace from a tiny shop in Wiesbaden. I liked it so much I bought it in rose gold and silver! Here it is layered with a choker I already had.
Here’s some options you can pick up locally. They reminded me of the style I saw in Germany.
I wanted to share a few shots of our trip. Some of these were from the Berlin Wall which was an incredibly moving day. Surreal to be standing in those spots looking at that wall which now is covered with art.
We found many neighborhood restaurants in each area we explored. The food did not disappoint! And, this was the first time I tried Sherry (I actually liked it!).

Layered Necklaces: Taupe (check out the Fig ad as well…so much fun!)
I’m hoping the sunny warm weather returns this weekend! Enjoy.
I’m starting to prepare for a trip so that calls for multi-purpose outfits. I don’t check a bag…carry-on only! While that makes traveling easier, it makes packing more challenging. So, how do you make that work and still have room for all the cool clothes and shoes you’re going to buy while away?! For me it means layering pieces and neutral colors. I like to take pieces that pack small and flat and can work multiple ways.
This dress is perfect for traveling. It’s ruching style covers up wrinkles making it really easy to travel. The fabric is super soft and drapes perfectly. It can go dressy for a night out or toss on a sweater and it’s ready for a full day of roaming through museums. Believe it or not I tend to take no more than 3 pairs of shoes…the boots here are constantly on rotation all year-long; a pair of booties and maybe a pair of heels. It all depends on where we are going. For this trip I’ll probably take boots only…I suspect some cool shoes may be purchased along the way so I need room! I also keep my jewelry really simple. Typically I take 1-2 pairs of silver earrings (one for day and one for night) and 1 pair of gold; 2 cocktail rings and 1-2 scarves. I always take a large scarf on the plane to wrap around me or put over my legs…even in the Summer I have one with me!

We are heading to see our niece Georgia in Grease tonight…can wait to see her! Hope to bump into you this weekend around the city. More travel tips next week. Enjoy!
I remember going to Maine as a kid and collecting starfish. My brother and I would roam the beach looking for them. I can still remember thinking how unique and beautiful they were. This week I’m wearing earrings that benefit the Starfish Project. They are an early birthday present from my friend, Stacey. I love them and I love that they support a woman’s organization even more. It’s such a thoughtful gift.
The earrings paired perfectly with a graphic t-shirt and distressed jeans. These jeans are quickly becoming one of my favorites…they are breaking in beautifully and are so comfortable. Even though the weather is warming up, I still wont give up my boots and today is no different. When I wear boyfriend jeans I try to pair them with heels or boots to given them some edge and keep from looking sloppy. A basic black jacket finishes out the look and makes it easily office appropriate.
The crossbody bag I’ve pulled together with this outfit is small yet completely functional! It’s a great weekend bag as well. The best part—you can change out the flaps! I love that you can customize the look depending on what you’re doing or what you’re wearing. Keep an eye out for these bags. We will be creating one-of-a-kind flaps for the MFE Wandering Warehouse event on May 7. They come in a variety of sizes so you’re sure to find one fitting your budget and needs!

Today is my friend Loryn’s birthday…stop by her new gallery and say hello! Enjoy
I generally don’t wear big sleeves and especially not anything with ruffles. But, this is more of a “wing” style than a ruffle and it feels really pretty when I wear it. The sleeves drape nicely and give a simple black blouse an upgraded look and feel. It would go as well with a skirt as it does with jeans.
To offset the formal feel of the this top, I’m putting it with distressed jeans. These jeans are one of my favorites and you’ve seen them many times. There’s nothing like a good fitting pair of jeans! To keep them that way I always take them off and fold them neatly. I stack all my jeans on a shelf rather than hanging them and I don’t throw them on the floor or toss over a chair.
Today, I’m also bringing back a fad from years ago…the choker. I’m looking forward to pulling out some of my old jewelry and wearing it again. Look for these everywhere this Summer. My earrings were a find at ABC Carpet and Home on a trip to NYC and while I normally don’t wear orange and black—too Halloween for me—I thought they added the right pop of color and interest. A vintage bag and fun boots finish the look today!

Tonight is a big deal for a good friend of mine, she is opening her own art gallery! I am so excited for her to start this new journey…if you are in Lancaster, check out Loryn Spangler-Jones. Her new location is 110 W. King St. Enjoy…
So for me, if I’m debating a purchase (yes, it does happen!) I stop and think what are all the ways I could wear “this.” If I can come up with multiple uses for something, like that crazy amazing dress or pair of shoes, then I figure it’s worth the purchase. I have options.
I’m sure for many of you distressed jeans do not fall into the category of “options.” These are the jeans you only wear on the weekends with sneakers, right? I don’t think so. You actually have as many options with distressed jeans as you do with any other pair of jeans! I love the tension of something that appears to be ruined or not presentable paired with something higher end or dressed up. These boyfriend jeans are no exception. Sure they could work with a t-shirt and sneakers for the weekend but what if you paired them with heels, a dressy blouse for date night or a suit jacket? Comfortable, stylish and a little bit of “edge.”
Love showing off a pair of cool booties with cuffed jeans!
A turtleneck paired with a moto jacket and jeans will forever be classic. The distressed jeans give it a simple edge that takes you from work to drinks with your friends.
For you office types, toss on a suit jacket and heels to give the jeans the right amount of polish. Bonus—you are still comfortable!

We are off to NYC this weekend after celebrating with the Atomic family tonight. Check out the Roots & Blues Festival coming to Lancaster next weekend…hurry and get your tickets! Enjoy
I love dresses! Even in the winter months I still love to wear dresses. Simple, slip on styles are my favorite. This dress is the softest suede and has a really cool retro feel. I pulled a simple black t-shirt under it for some more warmth. A cropped sweater would work too but I didn’t want to take away from the overall look. As the weather gets a little warmer I can switch to a short sleeve t-shirt and even nothing under it as we get closer to summer. Don’t you love it when a piece can take you thru several seasons?!
These OTK boots are perfect and are one of my favorite pairs. Mio Studio earrings complete the look.
