These black jeans are one of the staples in my wardrobe rotation. They are jet black with a slight suede feel and they are comfortable! Because of these features, they are a perfect day to night pair of jeans and today I will be doing just that. Another staple for me is a great t-shirt. That means a good fit and the softest material I can get. Like the jeans, this shirt delivers…I think it’s actually the softest t-shirt I own. I love the “lips” and the punch of color it adds. It is going to be fantastic in the Summer as well because it is lightweight and will pair equally well with skirts as with shorts. Because the t-shirt is light, I’m adding a basic black jacket instead of a sweater–a good black jacket is something everyone needs in their closet. During the day I will be using my red leather bag but switching up to this fun wristlet for night. Vintage jewelry and cascading gold earrings are the perfect accessories topped off with a polka-dotted scarf for some polish. We walk alot on the weekends and since it snowed Thursday I’m feeling a pair of flats are in order to navigate the sidewalks. These OTK boots are not only the best walking boots but I’ve found this year that the added coverage on my legs really helps to keep me a little warmer–bonus points!
Rob and I are headed out to see Venus in Fur tonight at the Fulton Theatre. It ends this weekend so hurry up and get out to see it. I also want to give an early 40th shout-out to my friend and beautiful artist Loryn…we will be celebrating this weekend! Check out her work!
I thought last week was cold but it’s got nothin’ on today! It was a balmy -10 with the wind chill this morning. So, I figured it would be best to wrap myself up in something cozy.
This warm brown wrap sweater does the trick for today. It’s really versatile and can be worn open or belted. I prefer it belted because I like it to make a little bit of a waist and give me some shape! My go-to black t is layered underneath and finished with skinny jeans. The boots were a fun score when I was in LA. I love the pocket detail on the sides and the cool pointed toe.
I added some vintage and new rings, a cuff and fabulous earrings that cascade down to the sweater. When I need to head out today, I’ll be bundling up in this leopard print jacket topped off with an orange plaid blanket scarf…this coat is so warm. None of my new coats are as warm as this vintage one. Love it!
So, I came back from LA this week to cold, just plain cold. A little bit of sun (not quite like LA…) and single digit temps at night. Today, it is still going to be cold. I need to be out and about so I’m feeling warm and comfortable are in order.
These boyfriend jeans are just baggy enough but not sloppy. I loosely tucked a charcoal gray sweater in and then belted them. The black and white shoes are one of my favorite pairs…I tend not to wear them much in winter but I felt today might be a good day to switch up from boots! I always find a scarf of any kind helps keep you warm just by wrapping it around your neck. This is a beautiful silky one I picked up years ago. It adds a nice bit of color and texture to the outfit. I paired silver jewelry with this outfit and an animal print crossbody.
I’m bracing for another burst of cold air this weekend and heading out for a meeting today. I want to be warm, comfortable and stylish! So, I’ve combined a new pair of grey suede OTK boots that finally just arrived (seemed like it took forever!) with a favorite pair of dark wash jeans. These boots are going to be great I think…they fit like a dream, look stylish and have just enough of a heel but (hopefully) won’t reaggrevate my back. The charcoal grey suede is really beautiful and because they have a stretch back, they fit nice and snug making your leg look thinner. A basic black T for layering is under a warm boyfriend cardigan sweater. I tossed on a cozy plaid scarf which will keep me warm all day. This scarf also pairs great with my vintage grey coat when I head out for my meeting. I needed a little pop of “something” so I’m choosing to wear these crystal earrings. You can pull these off during the day…just keep the rest of your outfit casual. I stacked a few vintage bracelets along with a favorite new one and slipped on my favorite wide band ring. A final touch is the grey leather clutch bag. It also has a strap so will work well during the day. Done and ready to go!
This week has been a rough one for a lot of people across the US, and our area was not left out. Cold, windy and a little bit of snow thrown in for fun! So, today I felt like looking forward to Spring. One of the trends you’ll see this year is gingham…it might be baby blue, black or red. I’m trying out red gingham with a few twists. This beautiful shirt was a Christmas gift from my husband that he brought back from Tokyo. I’m usually not a button-up shirt kind of person but this is a fun shirt. It mixes up a few patterns (another trend you will see this Spring), adds a piece of artwork on top of it with the silkscreen caricature and then finishes off with a great silver button at the top. I put a silver metallic t-shirt under it for some additional contrast and then added straight-leg jeans. I’m big on socks with boots and/or shoes and today is no exception! These yellow shoes give the outfit a pop of color and bring in metallic accents as well. The wedges are also super comfortable.
I topped it off with silver stacked bracelets and a red croc embossed clutch. This bag has a strap for easy carrying and is large enough to work for a day. It adds a little polish to the outfit.
Restaurants and stores suffer too when the weather is not the best so please try to get out this weekend and support them. Many are having sales too…check out Taupe, That Shuu Girl and Sophie Stargazer.
I love a good jacket. The right jacket can dress up or dress down an outfit or give that extra edge. One type that is still remaining popular is the military and/or band style jacket. The one I’m featuring here is my take on this trend…it’s a vintage jacket I picked up at Hinesite and was probably used by hotel staff somewhere. It’s heavy, it’s warm and it just needed a little love to bring it back to life. I paired it with a simple black t-shirt underneath and these stunning blue suede OTK boots. The blues don’t perfectly match and I prefer that actually. I can’t get enough of the OTK boot trend and I’ve probably said this before but they really do help to keep my legs warm! Skinny jeans were a must to tuck into the boots but also to balance the flair of the jacket. I felt it still need a little punch so I twisted this plaid flannel infinity scarf around my neck. I kept the accessories pretty basic with simple silver hoops and a thick silver band ring. The small purse was a gift from my sister-in-law years ago and works perfectly for day or night!
I hope you’ve had a good week…enjoy the weekend!

I’ve been on the hunt for a comfortable pair of distressed skinnies and I think I found them! These fit perfectly in boots which is essential this time of year and yet they are still comfortable; holding up all day without sagging. A perfect black cardigan with t-shirt layered underneath keeps the outfit polished but still comfortable. A fun infinity scarf will keep the cold off my neck. I kept my jewelry simple with silver hoops and ring. The ankle length of these jeans lets them easily be changed up for a night out with a great pair of heels and a sheer blouse.
I’m really loving oversized clutches recently, especially for day. I think they add an unexpected twist to a daytime look. This one not only adds that twist but the gorgeous green leather adds a punch of color. It’s large enough to carry all the essentials and you can even tuck a small notebook or iPAD into it for meetings.
Not only is today Friday, it’s First Friday here in Lancaster. For us that means popping in and out of restaurants, strolling art galleries and reconnecting. The city streets will be bustling with friends and visitors roaming our city. So, today I decided to show off a Friday night outfit rather than what you will run into me in during the day.
Animal print never goes out of style and I particularly like the light background of this leopard shrug. I’m letting it take center stage by keeping everything else fairly simple…a black v-neck sweater paired with skinny dark wash jeans. These jeans are one of my favorites. They are so comfortable, fit beautifully and because they are a dark wash, they can easily dress up an outfit. The oversized clutch in green adds a punch of color and is a nice contrast to the other basics. I chose a pair of jeweled stud earrings because they pick up some of the green tone and complimented the vintage shrug. Stacked bracelets and rings in gold finished out my accessories. I’m working my way back into heels after my back injury but keeping them just for going out right now! The Dior black leather pointy-toed heels are the perfect ending to this outfit.
Happy Halloween! I can remember as a kid being so excited for trick or treating…the treats when I was younger and the tricks when I got older! I hope you get lots of treats today.
Since this weekend is rumored to be cold here in PA, I broke out a wool scarf. It’s timely being that it is plaid and orange…I thought it added a nice little punk-preppy twist to the OTK boots and leather jacket. You can’t go wrong with a black leather jacket so if you don’t have one, I would highly suggest you add it to your “must have” list. Skinny jeans slide perfectly into the boots and don’t bunch. I hate when I tuck jeans in boots and they bunch so make sure you’re picking the right pair to put with the appropriate boot style. A simple black blouse keeps it dressy but not too much. I layered on a vintage bracelet and some newer ones and then added a leather clutch with the same orange repeated from the scarf to pull it together. My friend Erica at Mio Studio made me these fantastic custom earrings. They are the perfect ending to this outfit.
As cooler weather moved in this week I was looking for a way to keep wearing one of my summer dresses. So, to get more mileage out of it, I layered a 3/4 sleeve t-shirt under it. Instead of bare legs, I decided to slip on a pair of skinny straight-legged jeans. For me, I looked for a pair that was very form-fitting so it didn’t add any extra bulk under the dress and worked more like a pair of leggings. Equestrian style boots add the right Fall focus. The bird scarf adds a little bit of whimsy and pattern. It feels amazing around your neck too! For the jewelry I chose earrings and a cuff with more of a tribal feel. The leopard bag brings in another pattern and compliments the warm tones of the boots.
This could also be an easy weekend outfit whether you are meeting friends for brunch or running errands!
