I know there are alot of people who are ready for the warm weather to go away, but not me! I would love to stretch Summer out as long as possible. But, as the nights start to get cooler earlier I’ve been able to begin introducing some of my Fall clothing.

Anyone who follows my blog knows I wear boots all year-long. Fall means I can finally break out my OTK boots though. I have to say it’s probably one of the few things I like about cooler weather! This pair is not only stylish but they are actually comfortable to wear. I love the look with this mini and a simple t-shirt. One of the Fall trends is longer jackets, coats and vests. This tan version is going to make alot of appearances throughout the season for me…the length adds great drama and a little polish to this outfit. It also has a belt giving it a completely different look. If you work in a more formal office, pair this with a midi skirt and heels.

I layered on the accessories this time with earrings, a cool necklace (can be combined with other long necklaces as well) and bracelets. Usually I don’t add all those pieces, but it seems to feel right this time. The finishing touch is a fabulous fringe leather bag. It’s a great neutral gray color.

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! If you are in Lancaster this weekend, please check out the Long’s Park Art & Craft Festival…enjoy!

Just a quick post today because I’m rushing out to a doctor’s appointment really early and then into the office. We have our 8 year-old-nephew visiting for the weekend from Florida so our house has been filled with one question after another! Why this, why that….I never heard so many questions from one little body! I think I will feel a little like him this morning because I have a list of questions for my doctor. So, the rest of my family is off to HersheyPark today and i will meet up with them after work.

My outfit today had to be flexible…easy to pull on this morning, comfortable and convertible to an outfit to wear out to dinner tonight. So, I grabbed one of my favorite dresses. This black skater style dress has pulled me through all seasons. today I simply added a tank under it for work. The cropped jean jacket will help for air conditioning at the office! Simple silver jewelry and out the door!

Sorry to be brief but have a great weekend! Enjoy

I know it’s not “officially” white jeans weather yet, but I couldn’t resist. I’m sure this will not be the first time you’ll see them in one of my posts as it gets warmer. I love the distressing and the frayed edges which hit just above my ankles. Perfectly on-trend for Summer. I wanted to keep it casual today so I kept everything neutral and un-printed. A simple scoop neck t-shirt is the perfect basic. I love this long cashmere cardigan. It gives this look just the right amount of “edge” while also keeping me warm! Long cardigans like this drape beautifully and simply feel elegant and stylish.

My twist today is this layered silver necklace. I’ve kinda gotten away from wearing necklaces lately but this one added the right amount of punch to the outfit. It’s one that could go dressy or casual…don’t be afraid to mix it up. The booties are super comfortable and have a neat speckle pattern to them. An alternative would be killer heels. That would take this outfit from day-to-night quickly. I think oversized clutches work perfectly during the day; they are something unexpected and they make an entire outfit stand out. this one is one of my favorites with the combination of black leather and animal print.

Happy Easter! I hope you enjoy your families, fit in some chocolate and get some down time this weekend. Enjoy!

So today is the first day of Spring! I am looking forward to tulips, birds waking me up in the morning and warm sun. But, today, the forecast is snow. I’m hoping if we are going to get this that it is the slushy, goes away by tonight kind of snow! “Spring Snow” I think I’ve heard it called.

I had planned for a dress today but instead I’m layered up to keep warm. This vintage sweater is one I’ve had for seasons. I love that the colors are not your typical argyle combination. It pairs perfectly with one of my favorite t-shirts and a cotton striped scarf. Instead of just tucking in my skinny jeans I decided to cuff them today for a little different look. This look would also look great with a funky pair of flats. I’ve worn these boots in numerous posts and continue to love them. They also work great with skirts and dresses so you will see them again! For an added pop of color I’m including my red leather tote.

So, I came back from LA this week to cold, just plain cold. A little bit of sun (not quite like LA…) and single digit temps at night. Today, it is still going to be cold. I need to be out and about so I’m feeling warm and comfortable are in order.

These boyfriend jeans are just baggy enough but not sloppy. I loosely tucked a charcoal gray sweater in and then belted them. The black and white shoes are one of my favorite pairs…I tend not to wear them much in winter but I felt today might be a good day to switch up from boots! I always find a scarf of any kind helps keep you warm just by wrapping it around your neck. This is a beautiful silky one I picked up years ago. It adds a nice bit of color and texture to the outfit. I paired silver jewelry with this outfit and an animal print crossbody.

I’m bracing for another burst of cold air this weekend and heading out for a meeting today. I want to be warm, comfortable and stylish! So, I’ve combined a new pair of grey suede OTK boots that finally just arrived (seemed like it took forever!) with a favorite pair of dark wash jeans. These boots are going to be great I think…they fit like a dream, look stylish and have just enough of a heel but (hopefully) won’t reaggrevate my back. The charcoal grey suede is really beautiful and because they have a stretch back, they fit nice and snug making your leg look thinner. A basic black T for layering is under a warm boyfriend cardigan sweater. I tossed on a cozy plaid scarf which will keep me warm all day. This scarf also pairs great with my vintage grey coat when I head out for my meeting. I needed a little pop of “something” so I’m choosing to wear these crystal earrings. You can pull these off during the day…just keep the rest of your outfit casual. I stacked a few vintage bracelets along with a favorite new one and slipped on my favorite wide band ring. A final touch is the grey leather clutch bag. It also has a strap so will work well during the day. Done and ready to go!

Have a great weekend everyone–stay warm! Enjoy

Today we’re supposed to be getting some warmer weather so I think it’s safe to wear this graphic print dress. I’ve really come to love the shift dress for its versatility and comfort. It just works…for day, for the office or for a casual night out. I kept the look pretty simple today because the dress had so much pattern. The leather trim on the collar is a special accents and I chose not to cover it up but a scarf would certainly work with this outfit as well. Instead of tights, which I am kinda boycotting this year, I pulled on thick gray OTK socks. My favorite pair of OTK boots will give my legs any warmth they might need today. I stacked some silver bracelets and my Mio Studio earrings which have made numerous appearances in my posts. the green oversized clutch was added for some color and because the leather on this bag is just so beautiful!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

This week has been a rough one for a lot of people across the US, and our area was not left out. Cold, windy and a little bit of snow thrown in for fun! So, today I felt like looking forward to Spring. One of the trends you’ll see this year is gingham…it might be baby blue, black or red. I’m trying out red gingham with a few twists. This beautiful shirt was a Christmas gift from my husband that he brought back from Tokyo. I’m usually not a button-up shirt kind of person but this is a fun shirt. It mixes up a few patterns (another trend you will see this Spring), adds a piece of artwork on top of it with the silkscreen caricature and then finishes off with a great silver button at the top. I put a silver metallic t-shirt under it for some additional contrast and then added straight-leg jeans. I’m big on socks with boots and/or shoes and today is no exception! These yellow shoes give the outfit a pop of color and bring in metallic accents as well. The wedges are also super comfortable.

I topped it off with silver stacked bracelets and a red croc embossed clutch. This bag has a strap for easy carrying and is large enough to work for a day. It adds a little polish to the outfit.

fur vest

Today’s post is a repeat outfit…I’m sorry I admit it! This outfit was one I liked so much that I’m repeating it. It’s New Year’s and nothing seems to fit better than fur and sparkles so I couldn’t resist repeating at least the fur part. This black faux fur vest is just so fun and it adds some warmth as well. I layered it with a basic black t-shirt (something always in rotation in my wardrobe) and then belted it to give my waist some definition. Another wardrobe staple are these black ankle boots. They go with everything from dresses to jeans and skirts and they really are pretty comfortable. Distressed jeans keep the vest from looking too dressy for the day (my opinion; you might feel otherwise!). The vest takes center stage in this outfit so really the accessories can stay pretty minimal. I went with simple silver cascading hoop earrings and stacked bracelets. Because I’m wearing this during the day, I picked a neutral leather clutch that is a little larger so it works perfectly as a day bag but with more interest than a standard tote.

Happy New Year!!

happy happy

I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas and is relaxing with leftovers! The day after Christmas always seems like a perfect day for turkey sandwiches, movies and chillin’ with a good book or magazine.

I wanted to share with you some holiday looks from recent days. For a casual, yet funky look I pulled together skinny (reminds me not to eat too much pie!) distressed jeans, a basic black t-shirt and fun, furry vest. Sometimes vests can be a little overwhelming so to give myself a little shape, I simply belted it. I used a black leather belt so it would be a subtle accent and not draw attention to my waist. My favorite pair of booties add some height without being too much for a casual night out. A neutral tan leather clutch works well if you’re traveling and can be reused with several outfits as needed. Simple silver cascading hoop earrings and stacked bracelets finish off the look.

For Christmas Eve I wore this burgundy faux leather shift. We were driving most of the day so this was comfortable and easy. I arrived looking great with no additional prep needed before church! I simply switched out my day bag for this leopard print clutch and added OTK boots for some warmth. This black jacket dresses it up but I also pair this with a black leather jacket for some edge. At the last-minute I pulled on a plaid infinity scarf (not pictured here but shown in my “blues” post a few weeks ago) to keep my neck warm and add some interest. A thick cuff, vintage red ring and long dangle earrings were all that was needed for the finishing touches.
